Brian Finkelstein

Brian Finkelstein has been a storyteller/host for The Moth since the early 2000’s. In fact, he hosted the first Moth Slam outside of NYC here in LA back in ‘07. He’s toured all around the country and has had multiple stories featured on the Moth Radio hour. He even had one of his stories published in the Moth’s first book, The Moth:  50 True Stories. 

Brian is also a regular performer at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and has performed eight solo shows in a variety of venues, from the HBO/US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen to the 2014 Summer Nights Festival in Perth, Australia and New Zealand. Brian’s told stories on NPR: Good Food, the Business, UnFictional, Market Place and many more. He has written for the Huffington Post, and is currently working on his first book of personal essays. He also writes for TV and film and has been nominated for two Emmys.

Students of his have gone on to tell stories at The Moth, Risk! This American Life and so many more. Past students have even started their own shows and some even now teach their own classes.
